Help those in need
What's your background?
I am the founder of Bless Skateshop, a space that combines a skateshop and a barbershop located in the North Zone of São Paulo. Since 2012, we have built a strong local community around skateboarding, and in 2024 we started integrating Web3 into our business model. I have experience organizing skate events, maintaining skateparks, and creating content related to skate culture. In 2024, we started accepting cryptocurrencies (HBD, USDC, BTC) as payment and started documenting our activities through NFTs on Zora. I regularly collaborate with local artists like @grafvisionsp to design stickers and facade art, and I have partnerships with communities like Gnars, NounsDAO, and SkateHive. Our work focuses on social impact, offering social haircuts and organizing meetups to introduce people in the community to Web3. We have received funding from NounsDAO (Prop 24) and Flows.wtf, which has allowed us to renovate our space and expand our community initiatives. We are actively documenting our activities and impact through Web3 platforms.
What will you be doing?
I will focus my work on three essential initiatives for our local community: Expand our social haircut program for vulnerable people in the North Zone of São Paulo. These haircuts are not just about appearance, but about dignity and self-esteem, which are fundamental elements for social reintegration. Lead ongoing conservation efforts at Margarida de Menezes Square, ensuring that this historic skateboarding space remains in a condition suitable for community use. This includes regular cleanings, minor repairs, and infrastructure improvements. Hold monthly meetings at Bless Skateshop to introduce and educate the local community about Web3, with a focus on practical tools such as digital wallets, NFTs, and participation in DAOs such as Nouns and Gnars. All of these activities will be documented through visual content on Zora and shared on Farcaster, creating a transparent record of impact and strengthening the connection between our local community and the Nouns ecosystem.Maybe you already have some creative ideas?
Time you can commit
I can commit 20 hours per week, distributed as follows: 8 hours for social haircuts (two days a week, 4 hours each) 6 hours for maintenance and upkeep of Margarida de Menezes Square (divided into weekly sessions) 4 hours for preparation and execution of monthly Web3 meetings (including teaching materials) 2 hours for documentation and sharing of content on Web3 platforms This commitment is consistent and sustainable, as these activities are already integrated into the operation of Bless Skateshop. I have the flexibility to adjust this schedule as needed to meet seasonal demands or special opportunities that arise in the community.
Why you care about Vrbs?
I care about VRBS because it represents the perfect intersection between authentic street culture and Web3 innovation—two worlds that are fundamental to my community and the future of Bless Skateshop. As a skateboarder and entrepreneur from a suburban neighborhood in São Paulo, I see VRBS as an opportunity to democratize access to blockchain technology and create new economic possibilities for artists and urban creators who are typically left out of technological innovation. VRBS’ philosophy of valuing street culture, urban art, and public spaces resonates deeply with our mission at Bless. I believe that the model of collective ownership and decentralized decision-making can transform how local communities like ours organize and thrive. In addition, VRBS’ aesthetic and values perfectly complement the work we’ve already done with Nouns and Gnars, creating a complete ecosystem that connects skateboarding, urban art, and Web3 technology in an organic and impactful way.
