Introduction:

We are reaching out to request assistance for an impoverished family with 7 grand children, struggling to meet their basic needs. Our goal is to provide them with essential support to improve their living conditions, health, and education.

Family Background:

The family, consisting of one grand parent and seven grand children of age ranging from 1- to 9 years, is facing extreme poverty due to incapability of their grandmother and mothers to take care of them. They are currently living in very harsh life conditions in their hometown which is in Umuchigbo Iji-Nike, Enugu East local government area  of Enugu state Nigeria

Needs Assessment:

Our assessment has identified the following urgent needs:

1. Food and Nutrition: The family struggles to provide three meals a day and most times can't afford one meal a day, leading to malnutrition and related health issues.

2. Education: The children lack access to quality education, school supplies, and extracurricular activities.

3. Healthcare: The family cannot afford medical care, leading to untreated illnesses and also death of one of their siblings this year.

4. Housing and Utilities: The family's living conditions are precarious, with inadequate access to basic utilities like electricity, water, furniture and sanitation.

Proposed Support:

We propose providing the following assistance:

1. Food and Nutrition: weekly food packages for the family

2. Education: we plan to enroll all 7 children into schools, provide school supplies, tuition fees, and extracurricular activity sponsorships.

3. Healthcare: Medical care and also we intend to provide health insurance, and access to health education.

4. Housing and Utilities: we intend to provide utility bill support, some basic home appliancies and furniture and also home repairs.

Budget and Timeline:

We estimate the total cost of support to be [$5500] over a period of 1 year. We propose the following timeline:

-  Food and nutrition for 1 year cost ($2000)

-  education assistance for 1 year ($1000)

• 1 year Healthcare support($1000)

• housing and utility assistance ($1500)
