About

Camp Dost - funded as part of proposal #4, is gearing up for their 2024 launch. Camp Dost is held at Camp Victory, a special needs camping facility, located in Millville, PA. The program was conceived to give pediatric cancer patients the opportunity to enjoy a summer camp experience without worrying about medical care. Perhaps more important to children, there are no worries about "fitting in." At Camp Dost, they have more in common with their peers than any place else. In the nurturing environment of Camp Dost, campers realize a new-found independence through personal growth. They learn to compromise, appreciate team work and become a self-advocate. Most importantly, they come to understand that they are not alone in their battle with cancer, as Camp Dost provides a system of support like no other. For the 2024 program – the number of campers has doubled, with Camp serving over 90 children the 2nd week in July. The donation provided by Vrbs DAO was used to aid the programing budget – purchasing supplies, costumes and equipment to support of the Camp Dost Sets Sail storyline, an immersive, interactive storytelling experience that unfolds over the course of the week. Funds were also instrumental in providing each camper with a special piece of treasure that they will earn at the end of the story and once the final challenge has been completed. Through this aid, Camp Dost is able to continue challenging children’s imaginations, and providing a top quality production that is sure to create life long memories!
