the grants flow is now being paid out per the existing votes, still have to restart some of the child flows, will do so later today
previously we had passed a proposal to pay extra money through the local impact budget, but that money has run out, so as a local impact grants recipient you will likely have a lower salary which is unfortunate.
once we get /flows in a more stable state, should be straightforward to restart the vrbs grants program with more funding on top of the same infra. i'd guess ~4-5 weeks
love this line from @drgonzo
"This is how movements take root - not through grand proclamations or digital manifestos, but through the quiet infiltration of everyday life, one pair of pixelated glasses at a time."
The current revenue model of the internet reduces our vibrant subcultures to 1-dimensional infinite content feeds, forcing culture's creators to compete against each other for attention. And while the worlds attention has centralized around a few platforms, there's been a rise in cultural attachment as a primary selling point given the near unlimited optionality in products and services. Thus creators are sponsored to push their fans to consume products and services from companies that are only interested in profit. Creators command a huge amount of attention in the world, but their cultural influence is co-opted by corporations for soulless ends.
gm folks - restarting the grants program. we have 1 month left of money currently to run it before i need to make another proposal to refill
i'd recommend that we switch to the flows infra by that time
