Improve public spaces

What's your background?

In crypto since 2017, became a DAOptimist in the past couple of years, hosting two Twitter spaces on DAOs. But more importantly, I love building my community, which I do via weekly dinners and other events, recently expanding it to building my neighborhood as part of the Cabin community. I'm also a songwriter (+guitar) and love the love you give to artists.

What will you be doing?

My neighborhood, called Hadar, is somewhat run down and abandoned by the city government, despite all the announcements it makes about improving it. Yet it is the multicultural and artistic center of my city, Haifa (Israel).\ \ I'm already working on bringing the neighbors closer and together improving the neighborhood. At the same time, a good friend who is an urban planner and UI whiz created an app for communities to discuss and fix local issues.\ \ What I want to do is a sort of local task rabbit, starting with my neighborhood as a pilot phase. Using the app. I will use the funding to place rewards on user-submitted tasks for fixing up and beautifying the neighborhood. This will serve as seed money for the proof of concept/MVP.\ \ The next step is to get matching funds from local community centers (there are at least 5 in my neighborhood), the city government, and maybe even political parties (not sure b/c politics is dirtier than our buildings' walls).\ \ The bigger goal, though, is to change the consciousness of my neighbors towards noticing and solving problems proactively, appreciating their neighbors, and putting more collective pressure on the government to fix the bigger issues.

Time you can commit

I'm already spending 4 hours/week on building my neighborhood via Cabin, and can dedicate some of that time to this. I can also dedicate additional time as needed.

Why you care about Vrbs?

It's the art, man. When most people in crypto are talking about "builders" – they usually only mean tech stack ones. You care about community builders, artists, public spaces. Art is a VRB. Community is a VRB. DAO is a VRB. You get it. I get it. Let's stir shit up for good!
